Making science a force for social good: How to build a community of politically engaged scientists

The Scientist Action and Advocacy Network (ScAAN) is a group of students, postdocs, and faculty from the Center for Neural Science and the Psychology Department at NYU, who use their scientific skills for social good.  In partnership with organizations aiming to raise the age of criminal responsibility, limit the use of solitary confinement in NY State, and more, ScAAN has provided pro bono data analysis and literature reviews.
