Currently: Undergraduate (2020) in the economics department, with certificates in political economy, finance, and statistics and machine learning.

Research Interest: Jacob is interested in researching predictable cases of deviation from rational behavior. "Economics as a field typically assumes rational decision makers," he says.  "But there are certain scenarios where behavioral science is useful to determine scenarios in which individuals, or even nations make predictable errors or misallocations of financial resources. Understanding human nature in this way can assist economic models and better formulate public policy."

Hometown/Background: Jacob is from New York, NY but also grew up spending part of each year in Cape Town, South Africa.

Hobbies: Passionate about tennis, squash, and chess. Curious about ideas, loves good food, and enjoys travel.
