Research Interest: Jacob is interested in researching predictable cases of deviation from rational behavior. "Economics as a field typically assumes rational decision makers," he says. "But there are certain scenarios where behavioral science is useful to determine scenarios in which individuals, or even nations make predictable errors or misallocations of financial resources. Understanding human nature in this way can assist economic models and better formulate public policy."
